DOUBLE WIN FOR ODI RIDER LIVIA LANCELOT

  • Colby Young

Tight in the standings of the Women World Championship before moving to Great Britain for the third round of the series, Livia Lancelot conquered on the other side of ‘The Channel’ another double GP win, and came back in France with the red plate as series leader. Her 250 Kawasaki from team One One Four will have a nice design next weekend for the French Grand Prix in Villars sous Ecot (near Montbeliard)!

Winning all the rounds of the French Women Championship, and racing several International MX to prepare this new round of the World Championship, Livia didn’t miss that opportunity to grab some wins! Second in the practice sessions Livia dominates the first race in the afternoon, winning pretty easily while her main rival for the title crashed behind her. After this first win Livia scored another one on Sunday; second in the first corner she got the lead during the first lap and won again, to collect her second double win of the season. She is back at the lead of the World Championship, and has now a 23 points lead before the GP of France this weekend. There’s a total of three GP’s at the calendar, and the next one is France where Livia would like to repeat the success of last year in St Jean.

Livia Lancelot: “It was a very good weekend for me; I was confident coming to Matterley as I really love this track, with many jumps and big ruts. The goal was to get some good results here; I got a good start in the opening race and won it, while Chiara (Fontanesi) crashed. In the second race I had an even better feeling with the track and got another win, to take the red plate. It will be nice to have this plate next weekend for the French GP, now the goal is to keep it until the end of the series. I’m pleased with the way we’re working with my team One One Four; since Thailand we’ve improved the suspension BOS and developed the engine with FDR, and I also worked on my physical condition with my trainer Bruno. I’m looking forward to the French GP, I’m sure that there will be a huge atmosphere with the French fans coming to support us.
